2D Zoetrope

Here is my 2D zoetrope that I made in class on Tuesday!

I am very happy how this turned out. :) Sorry that the lighting is bad dragonframe's test shots lied to me: it appeared that each frame was fine until I exported it. However, this short zoetrope animation might be in the DMA showcase this year so I will re-shoot this later with better lighting! :D

I will be uploading my 3D zoetrope sometime over the next few days!

Growing Love Illustration - Finished

So.. . . here is the finished piece! :D Tried out a different coloring style and I love it! Plus this didn't turn out too shabby either haha.

I tried to upload it to facebook but it was being a butt so I thought I should upload it here first! (and link to facebook later haha).

Oh yeah, did I mention that I just LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out! ;)

Oh and here is my process of drawing/inking/coloring! :) (if you wanted to know haha)

Step 1: Sketch (I decided to take out the rose and add it later)(Photoshop CS6)

Step 2: Lines (Manga Studio EX4)

Step 3: Color (Photoshop CS6)

Ta daaa!

Candy Death & Popcorn

This first one is titled "Candy Death" for obvious reasons. For this 10 second animation I worked with a few friends in my class and this was one of those projects where the concept sounds awesome but turned out not-so-awesome as we all hoped. :/ Oh well, I still like it . . . in a way.

This next one I did by myself and we were tasked with animating with food other than candy so I chose to "animate" popcorn popping! This wasn't supposed to be longer than 10 seconds....whoops. Well off to finish cleaning my room and getting to bed (then studying for exams all day tomorrow! "yay" is not quite the right word to illustrate how I feel about that).

Till next time!

Growing Love WIP

Really love how this turned out! This is the linework that will soon be colored for an exercise for my Intro to Motion Graphics class. The excersise is based off of the theme of "growing love" without using any hearts (but could use real hearts if you know what I mean like anatomical). So I plan to have her blooming out of a rose but I obviously haven't gotten that far yet. ;) So for this project I will finally be using After Effects and I am so stoked but I have no idea how to use it!  haha
I will be uploading some more animations next!

Post Its Walk Cycles

For this project I had to animate 2 different walk or run cycles and shoot it on "location" which meant that I had to rent out a camera & tripod  and take pictures of each post it note and organize them in Adobe Premiere and Quick Time. :) More animations are on their way!

3D Bomb Explosion

So here is my first 3D (technically) animation of a classic bomb exploding! Right now in my intro to motion graphics class we are learning After Effects and Cinema 4D programs. For this short animation I used C4D and made it by doing a tutorial that was assigned for homework. I wasn't expecting to dabble into 3D animation till the end of Sophomore/Junior year but I think that it is awesome that freshmen get to learn the basic fundamentals of 3D programs and animation. :) While this doesn't look like much, trust me it is a huge step for me in animation! I can't help but think about what my professor said "Freshmen animation courses are like kindergarten because you guys get to experiment with all sorts of mediums and have fun with it."

Circle Boogie/Morph

Step 1: Rough Keys

Step 2: Breakdowns

Step 3: In-betweens

Step 4: Final

For this latest project in my Animation 1 class, we were able to do some animating with light tables in the Drawing Lab! So the actual project was to morph a circle into 5 different objects while shooting in 24 frames per second and shooting in stages of 8's, 4's, and 2's. When the time came to decide what to morph the circle into I couldn't think of anything! But then my professor suggested Mabel/Gravity Falls (the awesome animated show on Disney Channel) so I couldn't resist and chose 5 objects/symbols/characters from the show! The first being Robbie's "heart", the second is Soos's question mark, the third, is the 6 fingered hand that appears on Dipper's book, the fourth is Mabel's star pattern on one of her sweaters, and the fifth is Bill Cypher the mysterious triangle guy. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this and while it took about 6-8 hours to all hand draw each frame I loved doing it! More animation/sketches are on the way!

P.S. Oh and when watching these it looks better and more fluid if you loop the videos.
